At Amager Boulevard 129 is a little pearl of a newly restored bodega and restaurant. As soon as you step through the door, you feel the whir of history. The walls are adorned with old murals, which show a section of the area's history. And it was the murals that were an important element during the restoration and furnishing of the place.
When style and decor go into a higher unity
The paintings are all at the brown end of the color scale, and it was important to Søren Herlev Jørgensen, one of the owners of Boulevard, that the furniture should support and complement the paintings, and not steal attention with variegated colours. The paintings are the soul of the place and the atmospheric element when customers enjoy refreshments and traditional Danish food in the old premises. They were therefore looking for tables, chairs and barstools in a toned-down and brownish style. Classic modular tables, chairs and bar stools fit in perfectly here. The Classic furniture was chosen based on a visual perspective as well as being in an affordable rental. Aesthetics and quality must go together. They were sent test furniture first, which convinced them of the style and quality, and it was in Søren's own words: spot-on.
Affordable furniture in professional quality
They have priced their food and drink to match the local clientele. Price and supply must work, which is why they have chosen to run with reasonable prices. A principle which is also reflected in their other purchasing patterns: Zederkof is not the most expensive, but certainly not the cheapest choice either, but ended up being the good choice for Boulevarden.
