Can a parasol stay outside all year round?

Perhaps you find yourself in the dilemma year after year – what should I do with the parasol when the season is over? And here the easy solution is just to think short-term and leave the parasol outdoors. But can you do that?

You can advantageously open it up on a sunny autumn day to ensure that the screen is completely dry. When you fold it up, it is a good idea to store it in a bag where it will be best protected. However, make sure to keep the bag slightly open so that air can circulate.

- Cover the parasol when it is not in use
You can purchase a cover for most parasols that you can quickly and easily use to cover your parasol when it is not in use.
- Remove the parasol if there are strong gusts of wind
Store it in the shed or garage to avoid the wind knocking it over.
- Remember to clean the parasol from time to time
Wash the sunshade and the moving parts where sand and other dirt can easily settle. Often, you can be instructed on how to wash your parasol when you buy it in the store.
- Make sure to impregnate the sunshade
Most parasols will need a wash every now and then, and following that, it is always a good idea to impregnate the fabric afterwards.
