“The guests’ reactions confirm that we made the right choice” Anders Golterman, Sushi Room

Sushi Room offers an open and inviting mix of Danish and Japanese-inspired decor. With minimalist simplicity, the space is utilized optimally, and guests have warmly welcomed Haderslev’s new Japanese restaurant.

When Sushi Room in Haderslev decided to expand their popular take-away business with a restaurant in the same building, they contacted Zederkof for help with the interior design.

– We didn’t want the typical upholstered chair you see in so many restaurants. We wanted something unique — a combination of simplicity and practicality that could also create the right atmosphere for Sushi Room, says Anders Golterman.

Anders Golterman had previously worked with Zederkof, so it was an obvious choice for him to use them for this project. Based on his wishes, Zederkof created a number of design proposals for the new restaurant.

– We had a great dialogue with Zederkof. I was impressed by how many good ideas they came up with. We received five or six design proposals that were all meaningful alternatives in their own way. Zederkof even suggested furniture that isn’t part of their regular assortment. The many options made it easy for us to choose exactly the interior and look we wanted.

One contact person makes things easier

Working with Zederkof meant that Anders Golterman could focus on designing the restaurant’s kitchen, which he chose to handle himself. Throughout the process, it meant a lot that he could easily get in touch with Zederkof whenever he had questions.

– We have one contact person, and you’re not passed around between different employees who don’t know what it’s about. It provides peace of mind and makes everything much easier.

From drawing to reality

Things don’t always look as good in real life as they do in drawings. Therefore, the excitement was great when Anders Golterman and his wife and co-owner, Jingyi Yan, finally unwrapped the furniture.

– That was probably the biggest moment. The final result actually looked even better than we had imagined, says Anders Golterman. Half a year after the opening, Anders and his wife were still very enthusiastic about the interior, and every time guests compliment the decor, it just confirms that they made the right choice in collaborating with Zederkof.
