Sushi Room offers an open and inviting mix of Danish and Japanese-inspired decor. With minimalist simplicity, the space is utilized optimally, and guests have warmly welcomed Haderslev’s new Japanese restaurant.
When Sushi Room in Haderslev decided to expand their popular take-away business with a restaurant in the same building, they turned to Zederkof for help with the decor.
– We did not want the typical upholstered chair that you see in so many restaurants. We wanted something that was our own. A combination of simplicity and practical decor that could also create the right atmosphere for Sushi Room, says Anders Golterman.
Anders Golterman has previously collaborated with Zederkof, so it was only natural for him to use them for this project. Based on his wishes, Zederkof developed a series of design proposals for the new restaurant.
– We had a great dialogue with Zederkof. I was impressed by how many good ideas they came up with. We received five to six design proposals that were useful alternatives, each making sense in their own way.

Zederkof even suggested furniture that is not part of their regular assortment. The many options made it easy for us to choose exactly the decor and expression we were looking for.
One contact person provides peace of mind
The collaboration with Zederkof has meant that Anders Golterman has been able to focus on the design of the restaurant’s kitchen, which he chose to handle himself. In the process, it has meant a lot that he has had easy access to Zederkof when there were questions.
– We have one contact person, and you are not sent around to different employees who do not know what it is about. It provides peace of mind and makes everything much easier.
From drawing to reality
Things do not always look as good in reality as they do on a drawing. So Anders Golterman and his wife and co-owner Jingyi Yan were excited when the foil finally came off the furniture.
– That was probably the biggest eye moment. The final result actually looked even better than we had imagined, says Anders Golterman and adds:
– Now it has been a little over half a year, and the restaurant still looks just as sharp as the day we opened. And every time guests tell us how much they like the decor, we are confirmed that we made the right choice.
