Can a parasol stand outside all year?
Parasols come in a wide range of sizes, and if you have chosen one of the large models, it can quickly become a challenge to move it around. Perhaps you find yourself in the dilemma year after year – what should I do with the parasol when the season is over? And here the easy solution is just to think short-term and leave the parasol outdoors. But can you do that?
Here it is important that you check the description of your parasol, where it will often be indicated whether it can withstand being stored outdoors or not. Regardless, we will always recommend a parasol cover, which protects the screen well during the winter period.
Make sure the parasol is dry
Many will still need to pack away the garden furniture, and here the parasol can just as well be included in the project – it is indeed the best for maintenance! It can be stored in the shed, garage, or in the house, depending on where you have space.
The most important thing when storing your parasol is that the sunshade is completely dry before you pack it away. You can advantageously set it out on a late sunny day in the autumn to ensure that the shade is completely dry. When you fold it up, it’s a good idea to store it in a bag where it will be best protected. However, make sure to keep the bag slightly open so that air can circulate.
It is easy to find the umbrella again
Perhaps you bought your garden furniture with the thought that they should stay outdoors all year round. If that is the case, it may sound quite troublesome that you have to pack your umbrella away. But it is actually not that difficult – neither to pack the umbrella away nor to bring it out again.
And if you have already spent a fair amount of money on the perfect umbrella, we recommend that you play it safe when it comes to taking care of it. The weather in Denmark is unpredictable, and therefore it is also a gamble when you leave the umbrella standing on the terrace outside of the season. When you make sure to pack it away and store it, you won’t have to worry about the condition of the umbrella when you bring it out again.
Good maintenance of your umbrella
Proper maintenance of your parasol can ensure a longer lifespan. We have gathered 5 good tips for you who want to take good care of your parasol:

But if the umbrella has already gotten wet, it is actually better to leave it up and wait until it is dry again. If you take down the umbrella while it is wet, moisture can get into the sunshade, and the Frame can rust.
- Cover the parasol when it is not in use.
You can purchase a cover for most umbrellas that you can quickly and easily use to cover your umbrella when it is not in use.

Store it in the shed or garage to prevent the wind from knocking it over.
